Will Fiat Coupe Turbo calipers fit a Z?

I was looking at a Fiat Coupe Turbo yesterday after someone mentioned to me that they have Brembo calipers.

They look pretty big and beefy but would they fit/be any good on a Z?

There are quite a few of them in scrappers so should be fairly cheap.

I think that only the special edition fiat coupe had brembos, the standard cars don't to the best of my knowledge.

Also can you mail me your address? I have a draft here for £100 with your name on it wink.gif

Practically every Italian car has brembos on in one form or another! heheheh

and every coupe has brembo "reds" on if thats what you mean. Saying a 'standard' coupe makes no sense either, its like saying a 'standard' 300zx as if there is a family saloon version of it, it makes no sense. as to if theyll fit, I aint got a clue. There are very few cars that offer a straight swap for calipers, just I think tha you zx people are lucky with the skyline calipers being an easy fit. best thing to do is find a scrappy with the car you wanna try, take you caliper and compare, and compare everything!!!

Aletrnatively, someone will come up with just the answer you need, within minutes of me posting this.

These calipers are big silver jobbies and might be 3 pot, not sure on that.

Disks look big too.

Hi the calipers you are on about are from the turbo version, the standard car does not.I have used the silver brembos from the turbo coup'e myself on one of my twin turbo TR8 (this car is featured in this monthes Triumph world mag). They are also a 4 pot caliper with two large and two small cylenders,of course one of each on each side of the caliper, and if i recall correctly they might be the same as the skylines (i think) its worth looking in to.Anyway they work great if they are goodenugh for a 5ltr twin turbo (500bhp) they are goodenugh for our Zs.Hope this helps.Chas

3pot??

ive never heard of three piston brakes im afraid, if there are three 'lumps' which would signify the piston position, then its more likely these are aftremarket six piston calipers, someone correct me, but ive never heard of three piston calipers, unless they are in some wack wacky world or something, hehehe.

And im pretty sure all the calipers on the fiat coupe were 'reds' and dont think they had three pistons.

When you say they are silver...do you mean kind of mottled, darky style of silver, or a smooth shiny silver, cos i have seen some brake calipers that are very smooth mirror like finish, and they come in six piston variety, with three viewable piston 'recesses' on one side, the unviewable recesses are on the 'inner' side of the caliper.

just read charlie message biggrin.gif he says he's used the silver brembos from the coupé, so i guess they legitimately exist! hehe anyways

ill be off now

regards

Yeah, Sorry my fault.

I meant 6 piston - I thought I saw 3 on one side of the caliper and forgot to double it... Doh!

Looks like they are 4 pot anyway according to Charlie.

They are a darkish silver with bright highlights and the Brembo logo. They look pretty flash.

I'll try and get some pics. They are not the same as on the standard Coupe, just the 20v Turbo
