Hi guys, i've been looking at CL500 mercs lately, the w215 shape (outgoing round light model).

Do any of you have ownership experience of these cars? whats the build quality like? reliability? anything I should look out for if buying one?

THANKS!!

Hello bud,

Think it might be worth contacting Paul C, Merc head mechanic and will hopefully be able to tell you exactly what they're like ;)

Vijay

i can no longer PM as i'm not subscribed anymore :( boohoo

1. subcribe and contact the guy = £20 is worth the info... that could cost you many times more in the long run

2. great car

3. did you start looking at it after you saw a previous post of mine on how cheap/undervalued they are in another thread?

4. ask the guy if the cl500 has the v8 engine that shuts off 4 cylinders in traffic for me please

5. let me know back on this thread, please :smw:

cheers

Check for corrosion on the lip of the arches , mainly the rear ,front edge of the bonnet and door bottoms for scabs even aluminium mercs corrode , did some warranty corrosion work on one a couple of weeks ago

I know that merc went through a bit of a cost cutting mission a few years back and by fook it.s biting them in the ar5e now , you wouldn,t believe the rust issues were having to deal with , doing about 5 cars a week , got an E class in at the mo that,s having two new quarters cos it,s so corroded !!
