Advice from the technically aware please... I've remeber a thread like this but can't find it

 

I'm running 17" wheels at the moment. I've seen some 18's I like. What is the ratio between the profile for 17's and 18's to maintain the same overall diameter.

 

The current 17's are 245/45/17...

 

Anyone know the Answer ? is it 40 or 35 the ratio has to go to

?

ya probably lookin at 40's on the rear and 35's on the front

Closest front ratio I can find is 225/40/18

 

Closest rear ratio I can find is 245/35/18

Depends on width. The calculator Dunk posted it very handy. Compare with stock size.

.........for 17s the ideal sizes are 235/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear. 245/45/17 as you have now are not quite right ;)
