Isuzu lump was the earlier 1.7s as found in the MK3 and MK4 DTi 16v. the 2.0 is a different engine as far as I know. Brazillian built. 8v non turbo and was badged as the 2.0 Di. Unaware of the turbo versions, but they'll be based on the same Brazillian 8v unit.

AFAIK, the only diesel units in the Astra G are 1.7 DTi 16v and the 2.0 Di. Common rail 1.7 (CDTi) was fitted to the Astra H, currently Astra.

The 2.2DTi 16v was only available in continental Astra Gs and was the unit fitted to the Vectra before the Saab/Vauxhall 1.9 Common rail turbos were launched.

The Isuzu was fitted to some Astras as well as the GM X17dtl low blo' (pile of cack!) It was also fitted to The Combo van at least upto 54'plates that I know of!

Stick the pics up mate,we'll go from there! ;)

reading the owners club the suffer from fuel pump problems but then it wouldn't be vauxhall if it had no problems

Ahhh!-my bad!,thought you was on about 1.7 diesels! :slap:

The 2.0 litre (as pictured aint' the Isuzu) was crap in the early cars.

after the trouble i have had with my vauxhall i have said i wouldn't have another (time will tell)

Personally yes mate!-been the 1.7 then probably a Go'er.The round plastic things are Solenoid valves IIRC for vac egr etc.Could tell better if I was looking at it! :D

Yes the 2.0dti has major problems with the fuel system.Seen loads of vectras/astras with fuel problems.Usually poor starting or lack of power.the bosch pump breaks up internally and needs a complete overhaul. The cost for a pump iirc is around £700 exchange.

i was a big fan of vauxhalls they never gave me trouble had gsi 3000   astra 1.4i for work and 1.6 Si for work and never had any probs but then eco tec came along and vauxhalls have never been the same again. even on the new astra advert says "with all new engines" i wonder why :slap:
