Ok, he annoys the crap out of me - but is anyone else watching his show on C4 at the moment?

Bit of an eye opener - plus it has that German dude slicing up (dead) people so we can see what the inside of a fat dude looks like.

The most worrying thing - the two fat dudes he's cut up so far are both my size.

D'oh.

Yeah, just watched it with the wife.

We just ordered a cross trainer from ebay and will be changing our diet from now.

FFS !!!

How did we all cope before TV " Experts " told us how to live our fookin` lives ? ie Raise children , train dogs , buy houses , decorate houses , do gardening , pass driving tests , choose holidays and any other bandwagon that the Controllers of TV Programming unashamedly jump on ? Oh , just in case you decide to get into antiques/junk , you`re guaranteed to find umpteen copycat shows of increasing mediocrity any lunchtime ( just before the news ! I thank fook for Sky+ just to avoid the end of these infantile fooooookin` excuses for BBC Broadcastng )

Obviously , I don`t have strong feelings either way :p

On the other hand , Hugh Wuthering-Heights` three progs on the " standard " ( cheap ) chicken living conditions vs free-range were brilliant . An eye-opener for anyone who wasn`t aware of the horrific reality of supermarketing .

im watching it.

ooPPS! You just missed a bit while you were reading this thread.

Hiya Bhav. :D

thought that was awsome.

so im gona kick it in the teeth though.

I have a VO2max of 54.9 ml/Kg/min

I dont Smoke

Dont drink excessivly

Dont eat shit food, in fact last time I had a burger was over a year ago and a takeaway curry or chinese prob 3- 4 times last year.

I have porridge for breaky

everything is cooked in olive oil.

Play tennis and run as much as I can. hence the high VO2max level which for my age is elite.

I have had a MRI scan of my heart which is clear so far of any fatty deposits.

But I had the MRI because I have a heart irythmia.

I also have Rhumatoid Arthritis

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Cant stop wanting to go for a pee

and to top it all off I have a cholestorol level of 7.8 which is monumentaly high and is split 50/50 beteween good and bad choletorol. Docs say I am not eating it but my liver is producing it.

So even IF you have a healthy lifestyle, eath teh right food etc. yoou can still end up ****ed up.

you get what you pay for. As an ex pig breeder I am aware of what happens in food production (and even more aware of the difference between what the public pay and what the farmer receives).

It is all very well for Jamie and Hugh to extol the virtues of free range and organic produce but at the end of the day it all depends on the size of the customers pocket.

I shop at Tescos. I buy cheap chicken and (reluctantly) Danish bacon because it's a lot cheaper than English.

We belong to the EEC and follow it's draconian animal welfare laws to the hilt. Our farmers are 'policed' by stupid twats such as the RSPCA etc continually trying to enforce their interpretations of welfare codes. These codes are imposed by the pillocks who sit in their comfortable offices in Brussels wondering who to pester next. Go and look at any farm in Europe and see if these welfare codes are enforced, or if in fact there is anybody to enforce them.

Buy what you can afford, don't be influenced by the 'horrors' that Jamie and co have to show you mock ups of because our farmers 'won't show them' you'll probably find that they no longer exist.

Did Not Watch It But Its Pretty Much Common Sense, You Throw Loads Of Shit Down Your Throat, Eat Crap Do No Exercise You Are Going To Get Fat.

Im assuming this programme daelt with obesity and "we are what we eat"?

The Irony Of It Is, Jamie Oliver And These Celeb Chefs Are All Well And Good Preaching About How To Eat Healthy Etc, Shocking Us With A Cross Section Of A Fat Dude Thats Had To Many Cream Cakes, Yet On Another Programme On Another Channel They Showed You Just How Many Calories Were In The Very Same Chefs Recipes In The Books They Sell To The Very People They Are Preaching To.

They Do It For The Money Not For The Love Of It.

I Will However Now Buy Free Range Chickens, As An Animal Lover Their Welfare Is Paramount. Its Part Of The Food Chain And We Should Be Thankful For Them And Treat Them With Care

Its Part Of The Food Chain And We Should Be Thankful For Them And Treat Them With Care

Is that before or after we slit their throats and stick them in a frying pan?

lets face it its part of nature to kill to eat, its not part of nature to keep the poor things cramped in their hundreds with no daylight and no place to run.

Ive seen inside a meat producing plant in Basildon where they make chicken nuggets etc. Made me feel ill. Whole bags of salt and sugar going into massive cauldrons filled with bones skin heads etc. christ i wouldnt give that to someone dog I dont like, let alone put it in my mouth.
