Just been going through my mailbox today on hotmail as i have been unable to access the net for a while.

 

I had 3 or 4 mails form unknown senders which contained only what can be absolutly disgusting!

 

Where does this sick stuff come from? My mail address is only used over the forum and very few other people have it that i know of.

 

Anyone have any solutions as this is really annoying.

I am on my second account since having to bin the 1st one for being overflowed with shite.

 

Only reason I have a hotmail account now is for MSN otherwise I wouldn't bother.

 

I've had my Yahoo account for donkeys years now and never get any porn or junk mail about penis enlargement(don't need it! ) Viagra etc.

 

It has a bulk mail folder that even puts stock market reports I've requested into on a daily basis. They don't even reach my Inbox...ohhhh errrrr Mrs!!!

i keep msn for crap and yahoo for friends and personal!

The trouble with hotmail is that you cannot stop anyone from sending you shite if they obtain your address. (something to do with being a freebie facility).

How do they get your address you may ask?

Some of these shady porn sites or gambling companies and the like, have software that generates thousands of variations of likely e-mail addresses and just send stuff out by the bucket load. Like propaganda leaflets dropped from the sky, the theory being that a small percentage who read the crap will be interested. Another way they do it, is to scan other mail shot data bases to pick up info like ages, gender, and previous enquiries made by people with other companies over the unsecure areas of the WWW

 

I don't know how I remember that, but I do, I just seem to have a good memory for shite and useless info.

I've been getting some shocking e-mails too - and I mean some really sick stuff. After a bit of investigation I found

the Internet Watch Federation http://www.iwf.org.uk/ who you can report this sort of shit to. They'll try and stop it at the source...
