I know that we want to formalise the club, charge for membership etc. Has anybody thought the the Z Club of GB has been established for many years. It specialises in the older Zs and may be a bit weak on Z32s and the web site is not as active as ours, but they have great magazine, club shop,a complete committee from Archivist to Foreign club Liason Officer and Motorsport Organiser to Insurance Valuation Officer.

Maybe we should talk to them about combining our strengths rather than both going alone.

I am sure that this suggestion will go down like a lead balloon both with our club and theirs, but Billing may be a great opportunity to at least start a discussion.

(Please don't let my tyres down at Billing)

That would be great but they really don't like us biggrin.gif We don't have enough in depth knowledge as to the inner workings of the windscreen wiper and the exact voltage of the battery at idle biggrin.gif

Also we are too loud for them... if only they'd turn down their hearing aids... biggrin.gif

CheerZ,

Andy

Just bringing this back to the top as only 4 days to Billing.

I am surprised that nobody else had any comments.

We are seen as a rogue faction, vagabonds, scallies in Z's!!!

Andy has it about right, however, I could do with joining just to get an agreed valuation of my car as the insurance company is asking for one! biggrin.gif wink.gif

Hi,

I'm a bit behind on this membership thing, I haven't been around for a few months. Now I'm back up and fully connected again. So what's the status, hold or send a cheque now. Also, how much, 20quid?

Hey - is there still an upload feature on the website, can't find it now!

Jez.

Hi Jez,

Here is the link for the membership contribution page:

The upload feature is still in the Edit Ride section:

Regarding the Z Club of GB, I too once tried to join(three years ago) and got no where frown.gif they were centered very much around the 240/260Z(great cars) and not interested in the Z32 let alone 'orrid Jap imports!

They seem more interested now that the Z32 is granted "classic car" status by Insurance companies, magazines and owners.

I have no objection to Nissan clubs banding together to improve the lot for the "Nissan Enthusiast" e.g combined track days, shows, discounts etc.

There are already a large number of Nissan Clubs(I wont mention the countless UK 240/260Z groups biggrin.gif ):

Nissan Turbo Owners Club

GTi-R Owners Club

Big Nissans.org

UK Skyline GT-R Register (part of Group B car club)

The Datsun Owners Club UK

200SX Club

"Clubing" together(like the pun) could be beneficial to all of us. At the same time each club could remain a separate entity, no need for one club to "fold" under the weight of another.

Just my thoughts,

Trev

I'm in the Z club of GB - only to get insurance down really - just get magazine occasionally. Website is crap.

Agreed Nelson, me too. I joined before I knew anything about the 300zx forum and I keep the membership going for the mag and the ZClub drag series. I have been to some ZClub meetings/events and they have always seemed to be reasonably friendly. And as Miek Feeney is a big part of it I try to support stuff he organises. I wouldn't want to see the 300zx club join with them I think it exists in its own right for a reason - to be different! Make it a club and get some club deals going isn't there enough members?

Cheers Trev,

Membership is on it's way.

I was using the automated pop-up menus - no option for edit in there, all sorted now.
