What is the usual problem if the hicas warning light stays on, could it be anything to do with a car being laid up for 10 months? Does the hicas have to be working in order to get an MOT?

Cheers in advance.

Usually power steering fluid low.

No most mot testers wouldn't even know the car had rear steering !

once the weather gets colder the hicas lights come out to play,

if u top it up it goes away,

nothing to do with mot

would the MOT not have something to say with the light on?? i know over here with the NCT mot's irish cousin that if there something on the car that doesnt work then its gotta be fixed of its a fail that includes anything lit up on the dash thats not supposed to be..

Oh i see you been reading my old threads :nelson: :p

Yep got one of those.........but it is correctly positioned

You sure its the correct boss - has a protruding part at the back to turn the wheel position sensor

Yes Andy purchased from luke along with the wheel, it has a peg to locate into the sensor

More than likely a faulty sensor then
