Connector cleaner

Can someone tell me if there is a substitute for connector cleaners.(stuff that gets rid of the green shit)

 

Are they the same as WD40, brake cleaner or kurust?

    I wouldnt use any of those you have listed.

     

    Have you got a Maplins near you???

     

    They will sell electrical cleaner, if not dixons.
