Gold Dust??

Have the fast road auto boxes become gold dust? Seems mine was the last one to change hands on here and that was ages ago. I assume that now SE Nisstek have gone and Z-Tech no longer do them, its gonna become qute a sought after piece of used kit.

No he said PREFERED and he is right.

IMHO the stock manual box is well how can I put it :xxx:

I know you praise the way they do things across the pond Mr Duff find out what gearbox is used in a Z thats doing 9 second quarters;)

PS back on topic I know the place where SE had them built so I cant see why they cant build more.

why would yoou run a stock gearbox if your putting double the power through it.

I dont think either are any good. but what do you use in stead

apart from greg dupree's car the other 2 that i know of in the usa running 9's run manual box's ;)

LOL @ the US DOWNHILL drag strips :wack:

well the spec of that zed says it all, theres no way that zed could do a 9 second run, stock suspension, stock cams, stock diff!!!

me thinks they got the time wrong on that one, when you see the cars in this country and the lengths they went to to get into the 9's ie the skylines, supras etc they you will know that it takes a hell of alot more than bigger turbos and some sticky tyres

Because like a fool I took notice on how much BHP the stock box can run well according to some US reports

They could handle 400bhp unlike the stock box that can handle 300bhp. Mac just can't drive, hence why he's mashed a manual box  The manual box has been proven time and time again to be able to handle well in excess of 600bhp..... Maybe macca was unlucky....

My box was brand new Andy there is no ****in way on this planet that a stock box will handle over 600 dont forget thats US BHP and its way out;)

So what about the Japs then? ;) Are they talkin shit too? In which case your turbos are only capable of 400bhp  ;)

Until your car produces over 400 and manages to stay running for at least 2000 miles then I will listen to you mate

It did, only problem was, the bottom end had been built by the same person who built yours and was the only part I didn't check.... FACT ;)

LOL funny how mine has done 14000 miles has a genuine 580 horses and dont use a single drop of oil or water init?

Oh and the fact was the bottom end you used had bad oil pressure but you knew that before you fitted it there was a fault with it numpty now please stay on topic.

The fast road boxes are gold dust at this moment in time

LMAO ;) Bad pressure was due to wrong shells fitted but like you say, back on topic (you brought my engine up :p ;) ). Yeah they're like gold dust :D

actually has speakfreak been on here in a while? like to know how the box is doing as he seemed to be testing it constantly lol

He's been busy working AFAIK. Big call for male hookers at this time of year

Since SE and Ztech both outsourced there "fastroad" autobox rebuilds to third partys, they are still available....if required.

The fastroad box is rebuilt with Stronger Bands and Increased line pressure. So its reliable (something the stock slushbox seriously lacks!) and so that it changes gears harder and faster.

The reason they are rare is because of 2 reasons :

1. Current Z32 owners unfortunatly generally tend not to spend as much on these cars as owners did 5+ years ago, and a Fastroad box rebuild is'nt cheap.

2. There is little to no demand for uprated autoboxes. Manual conversions are far more popular, with each of the Z32 specialists churning out at least 2-3 manual conversions per month for less money.
