The idiot being me..... :wack:

(PC related so all dimbo's stop reading here :D .... )

At home I have:

1 desktop PC

1 Laptop

1 Wireless Router (belkin thingy)

All connected... all working, but my wireless connection thingy is unsecure, meaning every muppet can use my broadband thingy

I've gone into the router settings using that 192.blah.blah.2 number..... Gone to wireless then security.

Entered a password and restarted everything including the laptop net connection.... But it wont connect.

The desktop connects to the net fine, but I keep getting this msg on my laptop when trying to connect.... (pic below)

I've gone into the connection setting and entered the exact same password in there but zip... nada.. nothing!!

PLEASE can someone explain in idiots terms where and how the fook I do this :(

Yours dumbly... :)

First try roling back to the original settings of the router and see if its the actual password settings that have buggerd it. if it still doesnt work then its something else you have changed....

mind you dont reset the router in anyway or youl have to setup everything from scratch again.

Have you set the "Data Encryption" type (e.g. WEP/TKIP etc.) and the "Network KEY" to the same on the router and the WiFi card?

I'm sure the reason the error is because your pc is trying to connect to your network on its old auto settings (without a passkey) and thats why it wont connect.... you need to reconnect to your network as if its a brand new one and set up the passkey that way....I'm 99% sure i got the same error when i encryped mine....
