The previous owner said that he had the cam belt changed and all the seal etc etc. so why would there still be an oil leak from the front pulleys?

I dont want to have a mechanic take everything apart just to find that its not the problem, then have to pay more to find the leak?

whats the cause of oil leaking here as ive just spent hours reading up on previous threads with the same problem.

im also getting oil leaking onto the nearside turbo causing it to smoke a little under the bonnet??? could the leak from the cam travel this far as the oil could splatter off the fan belts etc?

Well that is true

there is a really good write up on austech for the bypass with good pictures as well, I have everything i need for mine including pcv valves and hoses just saving for some nismo 555's now as i dont want to take plenum off more than necessary, andy if youre reading this is it possible to do a egr bypass with the plenum removed or is it best done with engine out?( sorry for hijack)

Yep EGR can be done with plenum off :) Make sure you have a good quality 22mm open ended spanner for the manifold connection and watch your knuckles lol. You may also need to remove the matrix feed pipes which is a bit fiddly lol

Just remember to use proper braided water hose when bypassing the plenium

8mm id silicon hose
