Ok following my previous thread about my deting problem ive been told the cas needs adjusting with a timing strobe light.

 

Is there anyone out there who is near north london who could help?

or can i take it to a local garage???

Not specialist job so yes a local garage could do it. If it turns out your timing is spot on at 15 deg, with you detting just retard a degree or 2 and this stop the detting for you. As you've increased boost, a couple degree retard won't really effect performance to any detrimont.

Colder plugs won't be necessary for that boost - if anything you'll be wasting your money as they'll foul up and just turn into bin fodder ;) Especially in this colder weather.....

yeah i kinda knew that.

but i dont know what plugs are fitted at the mo as i havent had a chance to look.

PFR6B-11C are what SHOULD be fitted, on all but the wildest of zeds, ONLY ever use NGK plugs, colder would be PFR5B-11C IIRC :) Other plugs don't have the correct protrusion, shrouding etc etc for the VG30 heads. NGK were commissioned specifically to design the plugs for the VG30....

well its not exactly a question but for you to take a look at this thread about an oil leak im having. maybe you have some advice as to where it could be coming from.
