Hi,

Another puter question, I am lumbered with AOL and want to change to another ISP.

But I have 100's of favourite places, is there any way I can transfer them to my new ISP?

Also is there any way I can get any mail sent to my old email address sent forward?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Hello mate,

within your windows direcory is your favourite's directory, you can just make a copy of it, then copy it back afterwards.

Not sure about the mail.

A tidier way to do it is to export your favourites and cookies from Explorer and then import them again afterwards, should they get lost as part of the change.

Email is a bit trickier. Once you close your AOL account your email address will disappear. One way is to buy your own domain name and most companies will provide free email accounts and redirection facilities for about £10 per year. Then you can tell everyone the same email address (I think Mark@topless.com might have gone LOL, but you get the idea) and then redirect that to any ISP you're using at the time.

I have already got Mark@topless.com, you should know Andy, you're my most regular visitor, some of those requests you send me are a bit strange though mate???

Hi Guys,

Managed to save my Favourites, then tried to import them to MSN, then it said it cannot import them because it is not a Bookmark File????

Mark,

Have a look at http://www.adial.co.uk for free dialup. It only costs a local rate call, no other fees.

Id be glad to help with the conversion if you need some.
