My work mate went about 2 weeks ago Bri and he said its absolutely brilliant mate. He said the place is very friendly and there isnt a hint of any thing relating to terrorism or Muslim hatred towards anyone. I have thought about going myself since he told me. He said it was clean, modern and very welcoming.

HTH.

Thanks mate I will let you know bud. Happy new year Bri :duffer:

Dubai is one of the most cosmopolitan and most spectacular places on earth.

The arabs love everything american and flashy but dont want to admit it.

Dubai is luxurious and the hotels are beyond any 5star you will get in most of the world. You will love it, gold is cheap, food is great and they like to party.

Enjoy

Yep, exactly what he said. Dubai is a pretty laid back place and they've really embraced the western way of life there. They even shifted their weekend recently to fit in better with the western world! You'll have a great time.

Mate.

I have American mates living there and they dont want to come home. In fact they have been there so long now I think they call Dubai home.

You'll love Dubai, the only 7 Star hotels in the world are there:), places you need to worry about are Saudi, Iraq, Iran etc...

I had a friend who lived in Saudi for 14 months and he was treated like a king. :) And i also know someone who just went to Iran for a week, however the company he worked for supplied security.

I personally would'nt go to any of these countries, i can think of many places i would rather be. :)

My parents live in Dubai and I have visited many times in the past (both pleasure and business (pre-DTAMotorsport days).

Dubai is one of the most liberal islamic countries in the region and you'll not find a single incedent of "hatred" towards westeners. Don't openly drink alcohol (which is only available in hotels) and be respectful of their traditions and you'll be fine.

My wife and I love it so much out there that we're seriously thinking of moving out there in the not-too-distant future.

End of May will be very hot - expect daytime temps of around 45C and evening temps in the high 30C's. Not too humid yet, though - that comes later in June/July/August.

Enjoy your time there - I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised!

My Mrs want,s to go. All the people we know who have been said it was great. We are off to Mexico this year for my mates wedding but will do Dubi next year. Have fun. :duffer:
