the i thinking thats how it works as guys are telling me how to do things but i cant get there?

mine will hopefully be back up for sale in a few months time, got to do some jobs on it first

Hi mate this forum is very helpful but be careful I bought mine off here specifically cos its the owners club and it was totally shafted. Still in the garage having the engine re-build done. Allthough once its done it will be one of the finest on the planet IMHO :-)

Good luck

I know another zedder bought his from here on the assumption that it would be better than some dodgy dealer or flea bay.....and not long after having it - the timing belt is away :(

Its in getting fixed just now and it remains to be seen if it is just the belt or if if has taken anything else with it :(

but its like buying any car, it could break at any time, the seller may have no idea and may have had no problems with the car, then all of a sudden something goes, i dont think people on here are out to shaft anyone, maybe just a case of bad luck

If you don't mind doing some bodywork tidying, mine is up for sale (stock engine re-built

As Stella has said, probably bad luck.

With buying from an established club member you're not only buying from an enthusiast you can also check out any of their previous posts to see what problems they might have asked for help on or whatever they have posted about their car.

As for items suddenly going, mines been running very well for ages, but in the last few months I've had three items suddenly go wrong, it's not bad maintenance or lack of pride in the car, it's just bad luck!

Best of luck bud, nice to see you're back as well :D

If i was buying a car, wether it be from a member or not i'd want to see receipts for work done and be prepared to get my hands dirty and give the car a good going over, theres no point buying a car from someone you don't know then blaming them for something that go's wrong. I've been a member on here for less than a year and with the amount of times i've read that a timing belt has snapped i would at least be taking a cover off to check the condition of the belt before parting with my cash then blaming someone else, if the seller isn't happy for you to do small things like this then walk away.

As soon as I buy a new car I change the timing belt, unless of course I have reciepts showing that it's recently been done, you can't blame the previous owner.

i understand things go wrong on cars and mine was a dog fine engine but electrical gremlins then found my warranty wasnt worth the paper it was written on at present i own a 53 plate scooby sti but still long after another Zed as they drive properly and are more fun than the point and shoot scooby just wanted 1 with receipts i can check and view and test drive properly  i miss my zed

well i have over 7k of reciepts its quite documented, also about 11k has been spent on mine, ive took the for sale add down as mine has developed a few litlle nigly faults which will be rectified before going back up for sale, it has a full wide arch kit fitted bymyself and a few friends, job is spot on

once the jobs are done it should be quite faultless and i will be asking £5450 OVNO

Sexy car mate

I bought a dog was my own fault I trusted the engineering skills of the prvious owner did alot of the mods himself but sadly I found out when the enhine went bang that the pistons and turbos had been fitted as well as most 3 year olds could have done! My loss took a chance and lost out this time. I would have bought Stellz car if it had been up for grabs.
