also, turn the thermostat down on the hallway radiator and it wont get so hot and shut the heating off by the wall stat

LOL done that mate but it just doesn't control it. Another job for me - move the stat to the lounge.... WTF were they thinking putting it next to the front door ffs......

they usually put them in the hallway, if its in the lounge and you have the heating and fire on it will shut off and the rest of the house will be cold
