I'm trying to change 2 of the reverse lights to fog lights but in order to do this I need some red bulbs. Just went down the antofactors though and they said you can't get them??

Sure I have read about other people doing this though?? any ideas where I can get some??

got the bulb and the wiring is all in but I can't get the switch and the bulb to light up at the same time, either one or the other. Anyone know how I wire up a 3 prong rocker switch so theswitch light comes on when the fog light does, at the moment I can either have the switch lighting up or the fog light but I thinnk both need to light up to pass the MOT?

Hi Chris

there is only 1 bulb holder in the reverse lights, unless you gonna do both sides.

I bought a red led bulb, so looks white when not on, its a bit of a tight fit but works well, i have a spare if you want it as they came in a pair. Pm you address and i will try to get it to you before crimbo post gets too bad.

Well thats good news, least they exist :hyper:

can you remember what store you got them from by any chance matey. MOT is on Weds and it's sods law the post won't arrive by then lol

I just got them from an auto parts shop on the island, but halfrauds should also do them, i can stick it on the hover for you to pick up at southsea if you fancy the ride down

I'll have a quick look in halfrauds in an hour and if not then I might just be sending you a PM and asking you to stick it in the post...

Thanks a lot for the offer too, appreciated

Hopefully I can pick one up without anyone having to go out of their way though lol

I got mine from Halfords.

Although I failed MOT with it this time round (passed last 2) as it was not bright enough!

went back to Halfords and bought an even brighter LED bulb and the tester let it pass.

Good luck with MOT mate...

I originally put some red lighting gel in the lense with the normal bulb and then put in the led, forgot to take the gel out but mine still passed the mot, could be down to the individual tester and what mood he's in on the day lol

Don't forget guys that you need to place the red bulb in the OFFSIDE holder, for the FOG, otherwise it'll be illegal! ;)

Cheers all, especially groover for the offer, I got LED ones from Halfrauds in the end... New problem now though :headvswal

depends on the switch, i bought a round rocker switch with led on it, I think prong 3 is 12v feed, 2 is power to the light and 1 is ground. If that doesnt work then try 1 and 3 the other way round, the middle prong is the feed to the rear fog light tho.

Hope you sort it bud

Check the switch with a multi-meter. Test it as groover has stated above, but use the meter and not power, as you'll end up blowing fuses!! ;)
