Hi,

I'm at the end of fitting a kitchen for my Mum and wrongly assumed the under cabinet striplights would be 5 amp so ran them off the downstairs light circuit. The striplights are rated at 3 amps so am gonna put in an fused spur for each one but would it be dangerous if they were put on a 5 amp circuit?

Thanks

Vijay

5amp would be the overall load on that circuit. As long as total comsumtion on that circuit does not exceed 5amp at any given time you should be fine. less is ok is the circuit on a breaker also? These are a good idea to have anyway. There are a lot of regs regarding electrics and always being updated so may be an idea to get hold of a spark if there's one around.

yep, all circuit breakers on the board. I'm more worried about damge to the striplights if they're on a 5 amp circuit?

They will only take the current they require so no probs ;)
