A'PEXi induction installed

Thanks Smithy.

Its in and was 100% easier to install than the K&N I bought about 9 months ago and didnt fit. Easy peasy.

No goose honk though! biggrin.gif

Is there a power increase? I will tell you when my tyres decide to grip instead of spinning in 1st gear wink.gif

Yes there is a difference. You get used to how much you lean forward when you floor it. I floored it and found I needed to lean forward some more! biggrin.gif

The engine tone is slightly deeper and slighty louder and you can hear the turbos spooling up when you have the windows down and foot to the floor. Nice suttle whoosh when you let off too. wink.gif

All in all a good piece of kit.

I recomend it

Stuart

P.S.

What next? Chip or de-cat? I can legaly De-Cat but it buggers up turbo seals.

Good bit of kit the APEXi intake, I would have bought one if I hadn't already bought my Blitz.

I agree with the decat thing aswell Stu, I've decided against it. Tempts fate far too much IMO for kissing goodbye to the seals! Sod that, make them last as long as possible.

Glad yer like it fella, must confess it is somewhat a pukka filter, hoping to place an order for some more early next week with new supplier after the last one pissed me about with the shipping, so any more takers let me know.

cheers

Smithy, I'm still after one as the supplier in the states pissed me around with the order. Can you put me on your 'A' list as I defo. want one!.

Tony

I'd be up for a replacement filter, I'll send you a mail.

Herman

Fitted my one at the weekend, love it biggrin.gif

cheers Smithy.

I agree David. It was very easy to fit, and didnt involve cutting away at the splash gaurd either.

The bars to hold it in place where confusing at first and I didnt use 2 of them cost my Japanese isnt that good and I couldnt understand the instructions too well.

I highly recomended filter IMHO. biggrin.gif

Stuart biggrin.gif

Stuart, the two bars that were the same were supposed to go from the top bolt holding the bumper to the chassis down to the bolt holes on the splash guard. Unfortunately I realized this afterward and I had already had to cut the airbox from the splash guard as the bolts had rust like hell.

Still never mind biggrin.gif

How much for one of these or is that a rude question?

I pay my insurer extra cos I had a K&N Filtercharger sticker and thought it was an induction kit - then when I went to check it was clean I found out it was K&N elements in the stock airbox.

Those in the know here suggest they are a waste of time powerwise but I suppose they filter OK.

Willie

Gald yer's all like em, gotta be the easiest and one of the best performing around, excluding the cybercraft ones biggrin.gif

The apexi's are about 50 squids saving over retail Willie

mail me if interested.

cheers

Smithy

How much is £50 under retail then?

Is it worth 20bhp or is that a pipe dream?

Willie

Willie, don't really like talking cash in this section of the forum, so will put another post in for sale section.

BHP, to be honest i've never seen the figures for Apexi's tested on a Zed, but they usually come out tops in surveys of cone filters, with often the best filtration, also ideal for our cars with em being dry elements as some oiled ones can cause probs to AFM.

Cheers
