Define "joke" and define "personal dig" ?

 

Not easy/possible. If people make friends here, by definition it must also be possible to make enemies. In the same way, while you can submit posts which please others you MUST be able to submit ones which offend/annoy. So try not to OFFEND OR be OVERSENSITIVE. There's no other option. We are human. We cannot expect it to run smoothly all the time - all we can and should do, is tell people when they're talking crap, not just jump on everyone when there's a dispute.

 

People should avoid getting bitchy comments in, and then saying "I was only joking". BUT, people should also avoid taking comments too seriously. If someone says something UNTRUE and hurtful about you, simply respond with the FACTS. If they make a stupid/bitchy/subjective judgement of you, ignore it and have faith in the knowledge that others worth worrying about will be able to see through all the bull and ignore stupid comments. The people who post crap will be known to everyone without you having to say anything.

I find it HUGELY amusing that on a thread supposedly extolling harmony I get called 'pompous'.

Like I said on t'other thread...you want a definition of the word...have a read of some of your many postings, get a dictionary, then look in the mirror.

Indeed, Im probably not the most hated person on here, nor am I the most popular (how profound ) anwyays, I say comments on here that some of you may not like, but in the overall scheme of things, its not worth taking anything to heart, cos its only a bloody computer world, hehe, at least we arent in a (n actual) war (or somethign, or livign in poverty) and we have a good life

 

As I have said many times, nothing I say on here is meant to be personally insulting just friendly banter, and I do usualy accompany statements with plenty of smileys etc which I would hope can fulfill their task of indicating that I am joking (unless im being serious of course )
