guys,

one of the elements (if that is what you call it, basically one of the heated wires/lines that goes across the rear windscreen) doesnt and has never worked. Not a mega problem as it in not in a key area and any misting that is covered by that wire eventually gets cleared by the adjacent wires. Just wondering if there is an easy fix for this???

you can get a repair kit from any motor factors you just brush it on with the use of a little template hey presto it should work after that.

regards, Chris.

You can purchase a pen where the ink is conductive. I've used it before, but only to fix little nicks in the tracks caused by scratching the inside of the windows with luggage, building materials etc.

The problem is, that you really need a resistance paint. what probably happened in the case of fairladyzgirl's screen, is that all the current for the entire matrix went into one element. What ever was at the sides of the screen 'should' have burnt out long before getting hot enough to pop the screen.

I repaired mine with the sliver conductive paint years ago and it worked fine. Two of the tracks had scratches. You'd get a better finish by masking the straight lines with some tape, I didn't, but it's still barely noticable.

yeah thats the stuff i've used before quite good actually

ive used that repair stuff on lots of cars, works a treat, just take your time with it. ;)
