Dooh rev counter

i thought id used alot of petrol in my Z today (well more that normal) so i had the bright idea of taping the dash by the fuel gauge and guess what the rev counter just whent all the way rount to the turbo gauge ignition was off so could it just be the nedal clip that has come off hopefully because on my supra the oil gauge didnt work ant that had just come off any sugestions please

funny that, i tapped my dash the other day and my temp guage jumped all over the place, had to keep tapping it to get it back down again. cant be arsed taking it all to bits to look for a dodgy connection though, although the guage seems to be working ok (after the ignition is switched off then on again it behaves as normal,) but when you see it jumping around when you tap it, it doesnt inspire confidence, i dont trust the bastard no more.

you mean when u tapped it, the needle flicked right round clockwise super quick till it hit the stopper? IF thats right sounds like the spring that holds it back has come off. Id imagine it would be VERY fiddly to fix if you could fix it at all, might be better off getting a new tacho.

thats what i thought clarky but after about 10 miles of motoway driving not too fast but about 4500 revs in 5th than it just went back to normal which i thought was a bit rare bet ime glad thanks for ya help though
