hope somebody can help here, a lad along the road from me knocked on me door the other week asking if a knew a good mechanic as his fan/alternator belt had come off so I told him to pop along with the car tomorrow as it was lashing down and I had been drinking, the next night he brought the car along and said he would just leave it with me as he wasn't in any hurry to have the car back as he was going home to liverpool for the weekend so I thought great I'll leave it till sunday and do it at work in the dry and with a lift. so, whipped the other belts off, put the new belt round the crank, alternator and fan/water pump pulleys, tightend it up to the full adjustment and it was still slack? so I rang liam (names liam, drives a red 300zx tt and lives in me street! madness!) and he said he had asked nissan for a fan belt which on his behalf is correct but its too long? are there different length belts for different years? I gave him the belt back and sent him back to nissan armed with the correct model, reg and chassis number and they still say its the correct belt? its standard apart from a set of volk racing wheels so no underdrive pulleys, its a J reg import tt can anybody confirm the part no? pleeeeeeeease as its stuck at work and my gaffers gettings on me tits about it, i even went to halfrauds but they had nothing listed or anything close to the belt provided by the dealers.

You'd be best ordering off Mike at MJP - he'll know for sure & now he's back at work can probably deliver from stock...

The UK model has a bigger water pump pulley than the Jap model, and subsequently different length belts.

The above belt is for a UK-spec twin turbo. As your mate's car is a JDM car you'll need a 4PK1010 or 4PK1013. I've got those in stock - £8 incl. delivery.

As for the Nissan garage - they would only have had the UK-spec information which, in their defense, is correct.
