Squeaking sound.

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help ! I have this strange squeaking noise that seems to come from the front of the car. Happens everytime I hit a bump and also when I shut the doors. Somethings loose, rubbing but I can't find it. Sounds like a Guinea Pig !

I wondered if any of you fellow Z owners have had a similar problem.

Regards

Darren

May be the bonnet catch on the bonnet of all places. biggrin.gif

Put a little electrical tape round the U latch on the bonnet. No more than 2 times round. See if that gets rid of it.

Geese, Guinea Pigs - sheesh, what next?

"Dear Rolf - my Zed keeps going in to safety boost."

Dazutti - what you're experiencing is commonly refered to as "the bonnet cricket". The way I (temporarily) shut it up is by putting a bit of grease on the bonnet catch and the lock mechanism. This usually cures it for up to 4 weeks but invariably it will return. Perhaps the electrical tape solution is a better way to go.

Hope this helps.

That worked. So it's the "Cricket" or the "Guinea Pig".

I'll try the tape/grease plan.

Thanks..

Its a cricket bud,you need a pair of Water Dragons in your engine bay, that will sort em wink.gif.

Right, I've ordered the water dragon, a green one. Will mount a terrarium under the hood and stick a couple of holes in the hoses for that authentic subtropical atmosphere.

Thanks Mac1
