When the software is upgraded :)

Fair enough but WHEN is this gonna happen? Been 2 months since the last responce and still counting!

I'm going to talk to Iain this week. Don't hold your breath though ...

Any other forseable problems other than webmail (useless anyway) and rides section Andy?

Rides is the major issue with the software upgrade. A bigger problem is having someone to do the upgrade of course ...

Thought Mike had agreed to help out? :)

Yep, he has, just gotta sort it with Iain. tbh we should have done this ages back, but real life has interrupted forum life recently.

Thanks for the update. But it is a shame we have to keep asking. cant you give us an update every now and then please? Make it a STICKY so we can find it.

It will be interesting to see if this happens or not..Will it take another member to be ripped off to get this moving. Yes , it may not stop it, but would help and as for a sticky, we may need a new section for stickys only as there are loads on this section already.. :D

To be honest folks, it's been a very very long time since we 1st had issues with the software and that was before Mike stepped down.

There is ONLY 1 thing that every subscribed member here will get use of for his/her subs and that's this forum! Seeing as we've had debates on what to spend some of the thosands of pounds sitting in the bank, can i again suggest we employ a company/business/person to buy what we need, do the required work and install the frills and extra's peeps are asking for and be done with it......

and no mike this is not a dig at you, you've said your to busy and thats that fella.

Dunno about anybody else, but am really frustrated at not understanding why it can't be done and sorted.

Agreed....My sub is due, but I am waiting for this to be sorted before I pay for my next year, and I cant help wondering if more people held off re subscribing how much quicker this might happen.

As Smithy says, lets get on with it.

It won't make any difference. And updated forum s/w will make a trivial difference to most members. The biggest difference will be for the mods who may not have to remove 20 spambots a day.

Andy, you sound like you think its not a good idea? If so, is this the reason its not happening? No offence.

Not at all, I'm fully in favour of doing it, I just don't want people to think it will solve all their problems instantly.

We could probably get the basic forum software upgraded within a few days, however the webmail will break completely (not that it matters much) and the Rides section (and data) will disappear. In order to get the clever features that we need, spambot blocking, this supplier rating thing etc, additional work needs to be done -that is the harder bit. Migrating the Rides section to something else would take much more effort.

I dont think it will solve ALL problems at all, let alone instantly.

However as Tesco say, every little bit helps. And I for one would like to be able to thank good buyers and sellers in a public manner so all can see.

Equally, to be able to make sure everyone can see when some scum bags plays about.

It WILL save some hassle....But, maybe the problem is that although it keeps cropping up, nothing gets done. If the Mods, or whoever refuse to do it, fine. At least we know where we stand, but to say yes, then nothing.............

wouldnt it be easier just to pop a quick post up saying what you bought and who sold it to you and a few comments ie= nice chap or quickly sorted or posted quickly

would save a lot of hassle imho

I can get us up to date ok, but it will mean the features that I plumbed in will be removed until I get some time to put them back in,

But who is going to plough through endless psots just to find out if the guy is OK or not?

Far beter to simply look in one place. For example, the Supra site. Here is a copy:
