Hi

I am going to be refurbing my engine hopefully with the help of Jimmer  .

I will be getting forged pistons, 555 injectors, maybe the z1 intercoolers. I am looking for somewhere in the region of 450-500 bhp (flywheel). What turbos would you guys recommend? I’m looking for something not to laggy low down and 5 bolt fitment for downpipes will not be a problem.

I have been told Garret gt675rs BB turbos are a good choice are they any others and what benefits would I get from the different makes/models of turbo?

Thanks

Hi mate

I bought the 600R's from Z1. Ive got 555's and I read in the bumf that with the 675's they recommend at least the 7xx injectors I didnt want to up them as well.

the Z1 675rs / jwt 700BB / GT28RS are great turbos but overkill for 500 at the flywheel.

I went for the JWT530bb as I wanted a powerful car, but didnt want to make it undriveable with too much power, or too much lag. Unfortunatly not running any after market ECU yet its only been chipped as a temporary fix, so not getting its full potential. So, I guess Ive been no help at all lol.

I have the Garret GT2837RS BB turbos and they are real smooth right through the rev range. I only run 555's with mine and it will still fishtail if you nail it at 80mph with good Bridgestone Rubber, so that'll do me. If 200mph was my objective then bigger injectors would be required and you power curve climbs much higher up the rev scale

P.S. I had a good look at Bazzas turbos before Phil fitted them and we were both convinced that they were the same turbo and impellors. I recently had to have one replace and having them of so recently after looking at Bazza's I'm convinced they are the exact same turbo and think the Z1 tub's are as well.

These are my GT675RS tubbies comming soon to a zed near me lol

They look the same externally, but they only have the single impeller blades and the JWT's that Bazza has and the GT2867Rs that I have have the duel cyclone impellers.

Hi mate

I bought the Z1 600R 's which provide the same power spool up etc they come in about 1600 delivered from Z1 with the 5 bolt downpipes and taxes etc.

Thanks for the replys.

Looks like its either the Z1 GT600R or the JWT 530BB.

Have any of you guys with the above turbos had a rolling road done? What other mods have you had done? So these turbos are a good choice for an upgrade from stock?

Thanks

heres another one

Just looked at this new pick and yep these have the duel cyclone impellers so they are exactly the same. Badge engineering.

Maybe cheeper to see how much you'd pay for brand new Garrett GT2837Rs from Turbo Dynamics. They are the UK Garret dealer. Just a thought as the pound is stong and they'll have discounts anyway.

Thanks for the replys.
