Urgent Help Seperating exhaust sections

Anybody know a trick to seperate exhaust sections, the ones where one part of the exhaust goes into the other and is secured by a u clamp.

 

cant get the buggers apart.

    hit it with a hammer to loosen it. not to the extent you will dent it though.
