Hey guys,

I would do it on my yard but it's gravel and space a bit of a premium and trusting anyone round here to do the conversion is a laugh really, i would like to do it myself with a little help of course. i am planning on stripping the donor car first im half way there already, just cant get engine lift in my yard its that tight, + i got 4 cars parked bumper to bumper lol..... just cant win at the mo.....

do a search bud, should be loads of info

mail me @ greg300zx@hotmail.com

if you need any info through the operation ;)

Make sure you have everything required otherwise the job will obviously take longer. Try and get a custom hose for master-slave cylinder! saves running the old crap pipework which can be fiddly and the bleeding part. heres a list of parts you need off the top of my head

gearbox ;)

fluid

clutch(new) inc spigot/release bearing.

flywheel (new or skimmed)

clutch bolts &washers

flywheel bolts

rear transmission plate

gearbox bolts especially the longer one @5 oclock

MT propshaft

rear crossmember should be on gearbox

clutch booster TT

clutch pedal

slave cylinder

master cylinder

brake pedal (or cut old one to size and use MT brake pedal rubber)

hydraulic pipework or get one made with the correct fittings from goodridge)

x2 rubber boots for transmission tunnel

gear linkage and shifter new bushes preferably

gear gator

gearknob ;)

Tip if your doing it from home, on my 200s14a i cut the brake pedal down and fitted rubber cover from a manual car, whilst there i removed the plate between firewall and cabin to fit clutch pedal, on a 300zx this is mearly tacked on so can be pryed away, the 200sx has to be cut to suit  !! when you fit the booster and clutch pedal you can still drive the car around with 3 pedals whist its still auto, advantage saves you a job when it comes to it! as to be honest the only **** ass part is a)removing the auto spigot from the back of the crank. And fitting the booster and pedal! the rest is no differant than doing a clutch change!! the only other thing to do is bridge the wiring to start the car, you can then figure how to wire up the reverse lights later!
