Got my Mocul zcenter jap spec kit auto cooler Via DTA today (Nice 1 Dan :hyper: )

I have read through loads of past post and come to the conclusion of leaving rad cooler fuctioning and adding old engine cooler in series with it. I understand checking fluid levels after. What I'm wondering iss there a flow direction? If so where do I add the new cooler in series left or right side of radiator? Also what do I flush old engine cooler with before fitting it as new trans cooler? Petrol, meths, ATF suggestions please

is acetone like standard thinners have access to gallons of that stuff that would evaporate after also I guess

annnyyyyyoneeee????

When I did it couple of years ago, I simply had it air blown until there are no drop of oil coming from it before fitting the trans pipes to it.

I wouldn't pass the oil through both coolers though. If you just pass it through the old engine cooler you'll have the added benefit of your rad not trying to cool both gearbox oil and engine coolant.

If you use paint thinners to wash out any engine oil residue make sure your get rid of any thinners before you run the ransmision fluid through it.

I would'nt leave the Radiator oil cooler still connected. You;ve got the 80 degree+ constant ambient temp of the Coolant having an affect, and vice versa.

All it is inside the rad is a straight piece of pipe between the entrance and exit points.

Hi

swz is fitting it for me with some other stuff soon as I have still not aquired garage we are buying yet and can't do it on the kerbside. It's been 5 months thought there was light at the end of the tunnel the other week and would got my garage by xmas but still dragging on. So pj's mob it is. They would do a better job than me anyway.

Why did nissan bother with the cooler in the rad sounds more like a warmer than a cooler

The oil cools as its diverted away from the heatsource(gearbox) before circulating back around again, but no way near as efficient as a proper cooler.
