hi peeps ive just changed my old cheapo k & n filter for a decent pipercross one and its made the exhaust sound different ...is this normal as it sounded ok before but now it sounds deeper and more rumbly surely a filter cant do that can it ???????????

Check its the exhaust note thats changed... Most probably the induction note thats changed! But yes they alter the tune of the engine, more or less air so its going to run differently... If ever so slightly

 

Probably the noise of the air going into the engine you can hear tahts different tho. stand infront of it and let somone rev it...
