hows it goin iv just noticet my water pumps leaking n needs replaceing now im just wondering is it a hard job too do and what needs to be removed to get access , ie timeing belt an so on ?

I plan on doing a cambelt change and waterpump soon. Is there a guide available that covers both?

There is a fair chance it is the hoses in the middle of the block!

If it is the 2 small hoses it is not a difficult job.

 

Remove the fan shroud and fan to give some rooom to work. remove either the top pipe or bottom pipe (cant remember which but someone will soon be on to tell you, think it is the bottom one) that go to/from the engine and radiator. Pull off the 2 rubber hoses and replace them and put everything back together using lots of liquid gasket to make sure the seal is ok.

If I was you I would change the cambelt aswell? by removing the rad and everything thats in the way fan etc then it saves you stripping it all out again! I have just had a full service done on mine costing £350 and that was pretty much everything done including water pump as they dont seem to last long, luckily mine was cheap as my mates a mechanic and still took him a couple of days to do it all!

Doing the cambelt is a much bigger and more expensive job than replacing the hoses!

But would give you piece of mind!!!
