i've blown the radio fuse. Which is fine, i've done it loads of times and got down under the dash and changed it happy days.

this time it's weird. Because I can never remember exactly which one it is, i've gone through them all and none are blown. I've double checked.

gave up a while ago but on the way home noticed the clock and door open warning light are flashing on and off (slowly and kind of dimly).

also, there is a buzzing noise coming from the map reading light cluster.(which are not working either.) when ignition is on

From this picture could someone identify the stereo/clock/interior lights fuse (eg. 2nd row down 5th from the right etc.)

At least then I can test the plug itself to see if there is power coming in there.

I'm pretty sure there is no other fuse box in the car to to check but maybe some-one here might correct me?

Cheers

Have you checked the fuses using a multi-meter/continuity tetster???

If no,t then do so if you can :D

yes, we did that earlier. i've just found this on a search but there was no outcome to it? It describes my problem exactly.

And my fooking spine is in bits from that STTOOOPID place for a fusebox :mac1:

you might find that the buzzing noise is the small fan that is in the map reading lights that draws cabin air onto a temperature sensor for the climate control system. They run all the time and are very fragile so it is common for them to go. If you prise out the map reading light you can see it.

alternatively, it could be something to do with the electrical/lighting system with the trouble you are having with your fuses but worth checking out.

Thanks, i've checked that, and the little fans are working .

I've now taken the rear seats out to get to the relay , which i think might be the problem. A while back i blew the radio fuse and replaced it with a 20 amp fuse because of the extra load with the amp/stereo exc. It might be too high, because that didn't blow but maybe something else did. I've checked all fuses in the engine bay everything ok there.

How do I check if the relay is blown?

I don't want to order one and find it's not the problem

How do I check if the relay is blown?

asume you mean the door open / interior light on relay ie a blue one

first does the relay click when you open and close the door? if not then its either broken or isn't getting the signal from the door. try swapping it for any other blue relay from the car

if it does click, the relay has 4 terminals. they may be marked up so 2 of them have a coil symbol between them and 2 have a switch symbol between them. remove the wires from the 2 terminals with the switch symbol and attach your multimeter to the terminals (in resistance or beep mode) with the door closed the relay switch should be no continuity and change to continuity when you open the door.

next reatach the wires, set your multimeter to "volts dc" touch the multimeter black lead to a ground (any piece of car chassis) and put the red lead on one of the relay switch terminals and then the other. one side terminal should always be 12 volts and the other is 12v when your door is open. if neither is 12v then probably a fuse some where

however from you description of flickering i would look for a poor ground connection somewhere. maybee the door switch not screwed on tight or a whire from the interior lamp or relay not screwed tightly to the chasis

bare in mind that all the above is from memory and without lookin at the circuit diagram or the car so i may have not described everything 100% as you will see it
