I just recieved a call from them.

it's 7.30pm and said i owe them £180 before they ship my parcel.

I am expecting a parcel but i have a gut feeling this is a scam, they know the address and the person on the phone was a foreigner i couldn't understand.

My reasons are firstly the time, secondle i couldn't understand them why would customs be using a call centre, thirdly i was under the impression duties were paid for once the item had arrived forthly the amount of duties seems expensive.

any thoughts on this would be great.

It was geuine so i had to cough up £180 to get my parcel, i will try and get a refund perhaps once it's safe in my hands.

As i said in PM mate, when the parcel arrives, look at the invoice value, add the shipping cost and then convert the final total to pounds, you pay on average 21% of that final amount for customs and in some case a fee of £10-£20 for handling.

cheers

All 4 packages are at the Inverness depot now aparently the tracking comp was a little slow in updating :D.

So it only takes 3 days to get from Z1 in the US to Inverness via customs at Stanstead but its gonna take till Tuesday to move them another 50 miles further north  :headvswal :headvswal
