At the risk of this type of topic becoming a trend..

Long story short, Sold my TT few weeks ago, Pottering around in the N/A at the moment (unsure what to do with this)

I Want somthing with some go in it, Hopefully cheaper to insure then the Zed, Reliable, and hopefully better on petrol.

I was looking at Scoobys/Skylines but the insurance is mad on them so it kinda puts them out of the picture..

Things ive looked at other then that...

Civic Type R (i think id need to test drive one of these to see if its my thing)

Integra Type R (as above)

Audi TT

Skoda Octavia VRS

Supra (?? Ok not better on petrol but hopefully reliable enough?)

A3 Tsport (not sure if this one is to "normal" for me tho)

One of the things that seemed to tick all my Boxes was a 200sx S14a but examples are limited and it would have to be a Manual with not to many miles on...

Im also open to "exec" car's, BMW/Audi etc

Cheers

Pete.

Edit: Oh yeah, Budget is 10k but lower is better :)

Impreza/Evo insurance would be to high, Evo's cost alot to maintain dont they?

I like the new golf gti but its out of my price range unfort

been looking at civic type r's my self and having driven them , are really good fun. You can pick them up for around 6-7k and above depending on age spec etc

CTR reminds me of the Breadvan from Postman Pat. Not to mention Honda 4-pot VTECs sound horrible and droany

Personally would not have any Evo/Impreza. They just are visually unappealing.

There's still nothing really in that price range that I'd have over a Z to be honest. I'd consider a very late E36 M3 or an Audi S4, maybe even a CLK Kompressor.

Supras no real jump up from a Z and it's not exactly nice looking.

Audi TTs are cracking cars to drive, but remind me of an armadillo. New ones are stunning.

How could I forget the S15? Prolly cause I never see them! LOL, I'd have that yes.

I know this isnt what you were looking at but if i was to sell my Z this is what I would buy for fun.

Follow me and get a Scooby.

I pay £595 for insurance fully comp and including mods. I am 31 with full NCB and its an STI 6 so not the cheapest Scooby to insure.

Ive Test drove a S15, very nice if a little cramped inside.

Adrian Flux qouted me £2k for a UK plated turbo 2000

im 25, 1 NCB , 3 points 1 accident :/

I was paying £1300 for the Zed

Would have to say Honda S2000. With the power to weight ratio it is more powerfull that the Z TT with bullet proof reliablity unbelievable handling and better fuel econemy.

+ If you have a chat to Migel at New Era imports he can sorse a 2003 car for about £10K OTR or he did offer me a 2001 with a Moogan Supercharge for the same price, but it would need putting back to standard for the SVA anf then rebolting the supercharger on once road registered.

When I was thinking about a change, the only car that came close was the S2000.

Also - they wont be making any more of these so they will (eventually) become collectible.

Brilliant cars...

Lots of good ideas, guys! I like.

Celica GT4 - cheap, fast nice, bombproof, low insurance - the only car I ever loved owning apart from the zed or zeds as it now happens... the GT4 - you will love it! get a very clean one for 5k or cheap runaround for 3

S2000 - nice choice - bomb proof, cheap to maintan but also, but I think very expensive to buy... overpriced, overvalued due to being in fashion. Also I dont like the power coming in very very late in the game... low down - it's near enough a 2.4 accord...

Jag XJR! - GREAT VALUE!!! really way way undervalued by the market, great performance, class interior and overall class act... will give many many cars a run for their money, but! expensive to run in a big way... on the other hand as a zed owner you might be used to it :)

Also must say there are a lot of cheap TVR's out there and they are in a whole different league in terms of performance, but pigs to live with everyday and expensive to run (read x2... x3... x4 of zed costs), But FLICK! are they nice to drive! Unbelievable!!! Gotta love it!

I would say GT4 and 300ZX-TT are the perfect combo to own - one for streets, the other for the open road... Yay!

Have you thought about nanything old skool?

i have just bought a mk2 escort needs some work but such fun to drive.

all you need is a N/A cossie lump on twin 50's and you will have loads of fun.

I forgot that galant VR4 - very nice, fast, low insurance, very nice handling and loads of fun. Good idea! It's a sneaky way in to great performance and fun... don't know about reliability and upkeep, but wouldn't expect it to be expensive...

I considered a S2000 but they are group 20, and i want somthing cheaper to run then the Zed, GT4 aint a bad idea tho
