hi everyone

Finally jumped in the deep end and bought a 1992 300zx tt. Completely standard fresh import.

Unfortunatly I have a slight missfire on idle and quite bad at around 2500 revs, it also stalls sometimes when cold.

Read the forums and suspect its the connections on the coil packs, injectors or a faulty ptu.

I,ve downloaded a works manual, lifted the bonnet up and then quickly closed it again. No way am I touching anything under there lol.

So my question is... I live just north of Hull in East Yorkshire. Could anyone reccommend where I should go to get it look at and properly looked after.

The title of your thread is misleading! I live north of watford. You live north of pretty much everyone! LOL.

If you live north of watford you definetly need help.

Ducks for cover.

Only joking.

There are quiet a few ZX owners in your sort of area so I am sure someone will recommend somewhere. We only have one official garage on the forum and they are in the south west. You may well be in the andy duff area who I am sure will be along on the site shortly.

You say it is a new import, does it not come with a warranty of any sort?

Good luck with getting it fixed.

This is the beast.

Bought it off a small garage who just dabbled in imports, bit risky I know but was a really good price and I just love the colour, A bit old for bright red now lol. Over all condition is fabulous. Warrenty was only major faults for 3 months.

Dont mind travelling, well, within reason, say 2 hours drive. which gives me lincoln going south, manchester/leeds/bradford going west and newcastle going north

And yes you saw just after you posted my location in Hornsea on the East Coast

The 2 nearest to me so far are

Zedworld in Tamworth

ZXtreme in Peston

But both are over 130 away.

Anyone know of somewhere a bit closer

Hi there

I use a mechanic who is a fellow Zed owner and is based in Knareboro, North Yorks. Always does a great job looking after my car.

You could give him a call on 01423 862215, he's called Kev - HTH

I've also had work done here, they're authorised Nissan dealers and have done my cambelt and look after 1 or 2 other Zeds as well.

Just a quick note to say thnx for all the advice and info, especially Apache for giving me Kev's number.

Been and seen Kev, What a top bloke, found the problem in seconds and told me how to fix it and gave me loads more advice on other areas of my 300. It was the detonation sensor.
