I have been looking for a Skyline for a short while so have had the Zed repainted on the front (stone chip city no more) It has got 10 or so months left on the MOT & is is mint knick. Or should I say was unitill I appear to have got a broken ring on cylender 4. The car was fine untill I started looking to sell her. This has been the only thing that has gone wrong in over 30k miles as a daily driver. She now smokes like China lol. Do I put a new lump in, sell as is for a reduced price knowing what needs doing or break & be done with it. Anyone who knows this car will know she's a real looker with full cream leather, Body kit, respray, fantastic ICE unit, etc. She is a TT with a N/A diff set up so is very fast off the mark & through the gears with very little lag. Recently fitted Koyo rad, Greddy Profec e, Pace intercoolers, de-cats, chip etc. Also fitted 2 new front tyres for MOT 2 months ago.

dont break it!! soon there will be an abundance of parts for zeds, but no zeds because they have all been broken, wouldnt it be better for it to go to a good home after all your enjoyment. Be whether you repair and sell or sell for someone to repair, financially you might be better breaking it having said that, the more get broken the less the parts will be worth!!

Working like a mad man mate. Here what your saying Fiarlady but dont have the time to repare myself, so if paying someone else to do it. I might as well knock the price down & let the new owner do the work. If that makes sense.

looks like one nice motor mate . forget the skyline . keep it and get it repaired . 300zx's are much better looking than skylines . :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Fix it for yourself, looks like you put a lot of work into this car,

If you have the time and the money then get it fixed.

 

From the spec, you have done alot of work to it and it would be a shame to break such a good looking motor.

 

Like the ICE install.

Be a shame to see it broken up buddy as its a nice car but its upto you in the end, you will get more money for the car breaking it, thats a fact but its a lot of hastle doing it and its very time consuming.

 

If you dont really need the money they sell it "as is" I still think it would fetch a decent price anyway :)

If your going to fix it don't go down the second hand engine senario unless it is an engine you know or from a good relyable supplier. ie Andy Z or a member who's motor is sound but the rest of the car isn't worth saving.

 

A new set of oversized fordged pistons and a rebore will about hundred pounds more than a second hand lump. The removal of the engine, reinstalling ancillaries and engine instalation will be the same wether it is a rebuild or a second hand engine.

 

Remember you'll get more money for the car if it has had a Fordged pistons and recent top end "rebuild".

 

If you can get it to Phil at C & S Wood it would be well worth it. Or Have a word with Wozzer as I know Mr Duff is doing a lot of work at WoZZer and Jay's place.

 

P.S. don't go big unless you really love her and intend to suffer the pains and heart haches. + A thumping great big hole in your bank account.

Don't you dare sell it. Only other nissan to consider today is the new GTR. You car is great. also don't go big. looks good enough already. enjoy it and it drives better than a skyline anyway. and looks much better. and is much better :)

In answer to the question of price etc. I was hoping to get £5k - £5.5k for her in good running order with nearly a years MOT 5 months TAX & all the new bits that have just been fitted including 2 new front tyres. I would let it go to a good home as it is for £4k. This is a bargain considering how much the car cost to get to the standard it is. If however no one comes up with the money & wants to start knocking me on price. Then I will just break it & sell in bits as I will get moor money for it that way. The only thing stopping me doing that straight off is my love for the car & the respect for the marque. There's a lot of crap about & its a shame to take a good example off the road. It gets attention everywhere it goes for the right reasons. All mods have been done with great thought for the car & dare I say the everyday reliability of the car :slap: . I do need to move on with my current vehicle situation so unfortunately she will have to go one way or another. :cry:
