Manual N/A and Manual TT gearbox. Same or different?

I am in the process of converting my Auto TT to Manual TT.

I have found all the bits including the gearbox but my mechanic told me that the gearbox is for the N/A and it will break easily.

Can somebody tell me if this is true or not?

Thanks

Hello Mate,

Look on TT.Net Technical forum and at the top is the guide to converting your NA to TT and it covers Gearboxes in there.

I believe it says that the ratios are the same but the shafts on the TT are hardened.

But in practicality people have used them with no problems, it seems that both boxes have problems, full stop.

I would just make sure your mechanic changes the gearbox oil to redline 75-90!

Hello Mate,

Go to TT.net at the top is a guide to converting your TT to NA, in which it covers a little bit on gearboxes.

If I remember right the ratios are the same but the shafts on TT are hardened.

But people have used them with no problems.

I would personally fill it up with Redline MT 75-90.

All the Best

DDDDOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH

I have found that N/A transmission can be used on TT. But now I have found other differences. Flywheel is different, Clutch Kit is different, Master cylinder different.

Damn. All the bits I've found is for the N/A.
