my drivers side window stopped working today just as it was getting dark luckerly in the up position {phew} on a quick inspection i think the motors gone as the black control box is clicking away but i will double check for dry joints or broken wires , but it does sound like a new motor well secound hand will be needed any body out there got one,or know where to get one and roughly how much wonga,

TBH bud i would bet money its a dry joint inside that black box, i know this because i bought a second hand motor went to the trouble of fitting it and it turned out it was a very simple dry joint that needed a bit of solder.

 

If you do need one i have a spare, you can have it for £25 posted, i believe it is working however i cannot guarantee that, so if you wanted a guarantee then you would need to buy one from a reputable breaker.

ill have a look at it today thats if i can get my door panel off with the window up have a play around with the black box , but if thats no joy then many thanks i will have the motor off of you , ill let you know tonite how i got on

sorry i didnt get back to you ive not had a chance to have a look th bloody water tank in my house split and ive been dealing with that the last couple of days but i will get back to you as soon as ive had achance to have a look

hi managed to get in the car this weekend and o my god yes there was a dry joint in the black box i could hear it clicking away so i thought it was ok but no you were rite many many thanks , my soldering skills aint up to much but i managed to do it and its working fine again many thanks for the tip and the offer

No worries bud, glad i could help - as i know what a pain in the @rse changing one of those motors is! Just another quick tip if you've still got it out/or if it happens again, put plenty of solder on it - that will hopefully prevent the same thing happening again in the future. ;)
