Hey all,

My car's been standing for about 3 wks and when i went to move her last night brake peddle went straight to the floor  The brakes did engage but only when peddle hit the floor :smash: I checked the fluid and it was low but still above the minimum in the reservoir, so toppped it up and pumped the pedal but still nothing and fluid level has dropped.......No visible signs of leaking fluid.

Now this has happened once before, last year, same circumstances on returning from holiday but after a bit of driving and lots of pumping of the pedal then brakes did return and continued to work until last night.

I'm suspecting possible seals in the master cylinder what d'ya reckon?

I know it's a bit like how long's a pice of string but any ideas on how to rectify and the cost?

I'd definitley say seals... MJP can get a rebuild kit, but think they have to come from Japan, so may not be too quick.

Anyway thanks guys have spoken to a couple of other people and would appear that yes need to replace seals or main unit, am probably going to go for a reconditioned unit.

if you check under the dash and look up behindthe brake pedal, you can sometime's see fluid expel from behind master cylinder where pushrod conects.
