ecu chip(what is it?)

just had my car chipped a few months ago,when i got it chipped i found it had already been socketed.

as it looks like it been chipped before i'd like to find out if my chip is an aftermarket or origional?

on the chip is some numbers....8AB9439J

does anyone no how i can find out where this chip is from?

Mines got 8AB9438J on it,doesn't help any but now you know!!! smile.gif

p.s got told that 9438 is better than 9439 smile.gif smile.gif

That is a standard Nissan chip. I'd guess that the replacement was removed before the car was sold and then sold seperately.

Without running extra boost you won't notice much difference at all.

Without the chip though you wouldn't be able to increase the boost safely.
