some of you may remember in may i had my car run into. it is being dealt with by my solicitors and the other parties insurance, who are now willing to settle the claim but cant admit liability due to the tw@t who run into me wont admit they did it. my solicitor has now given them 21 days to make an offer of settlement before taking it to court.

 

anyhow, to add insult to injury. today i went to the bank to relieve some of my hard earned pennies into their sticky fingers only to come out to this. the only person who saw what happened was a woman in her 70s, who waited for me to come back to the car. all she could tell me was that it was a white van with a trailer on the back. im well and truly fooked off, it has now put me off driving it around while its like it is. it makes me fookin sick that there are people like this who refuse to admit to something they have done. i will be looking round for a cheap runabout next week, the zed will be coming off the road straight down to a mates bodyshop to have a complete respray, so wont be at anymore meets in the zed untill next year. i was looking forward to just turning up at the scotch corner meet, but thats gone out of the window now. anyway thats my :rant: over with.

No seriously i know how shit it is, when it happened to me the guy did a runner, turned out he had not tax, insurance etc and because he was in court over more pressing incidents my little car got over looked.

 

I hope you sort it and it comes out good, who knows you might end up getting the car looking that good that you will laugh about it all later

thanks for the comments guys. ian. yes i did mate but a no go unfortunately. i suppose the only consolation i do have, is that the claim thats going through is for similar damage to exactly the same place on the car, plus a bit of a clue to what im having done, its going to be covered up anyway ;). the fact that someone run into does not bother me, its the fact of owning up to your mistakes that pi$$es me off. my wife reversed into a neighbours sons car a few years ago and caved the back door in. nobody saw it, so we could have quite easily said nothing, but thats not the way i am. i went round and explained what had happened, i got him another door, and had it sprayed, and fitted it which cost me £200, but at least i dont have a guilty concience everytime i see him.

I personally would rule out 99-spec lights and spend the £1000!!! on other things. Intead paint the inserts chrome and buy some HID's. ;) :D:D:D

Oh and the leather seems a beltin idea. :D

I suppose it depends how long chrome spray paint lasts, if it lasts a couple of years then its not too bad, just re-do them after that.

 

One things for sure, i can't afford 1k for proper 99 spec. :D

I would be tempted to retrim and upgrade the tubs and spend whatever is left on the rest of the engine. :D

a retrim will be done anyway, regardless. i already have the money to one side for the respray, retrim, wheel refurb, plus allowed a little extra for bits. thats without touching this cheque at all.
