I have a technical question !

I did the modification to headlights today so that my HID dipped beam stays on when I put on full beam....however it resulted in the HID dipped beam flashing on when I flash my full beam too.

This is no good, as will severly shorten the life of my HID's. I want full beam only to flash when my headlights are off....and for my dipped beam to stay on when I flash with headlight on.

I did it my earthing the middle pin (5) of the Headlight dimming relay in main fuse box. I got the same result by just earthing one of the HID dipped beam earth wires.

is there another way ?

yes, it involves fitting another relay in the engine bay and running a wire from your indicator / flash stalk and i think soldering a diode

there is a good write up on it with pictures somewhere

I thought about the relay method as had a spare relay lying about, but just could not bring myself to stsrt disconnecting wires and trying attach into the fuse boxes! I was chicken, just in case something went wrong. Zed wiring is not the most stable.

So going to stick to the Earth method, How often do you flash your lights in daylight anyway?

Its not just the flashing headlights bit but the brief break between dipped and main beam when driving at night at speed.
