On strike at 3000rpm

can anybody help,

I was giving my uk 2+2 tt some beans, not massive just a bit of a punch off a roundabout when it went on strike, there was a pop and fart out of the exhaust, immidate loss of power and now she runs lumpy in every gear and wont go over 3000rpm, any ideas? i know its not the det censor (knock censor), need quick replys please to get her running again before santa pod on sat,

    Air flow meter - it's in limp home mode! Unplug the AFM, clean up, plug in... away you go!!

    MAF. Its either sucked up water through the Filter and may be ok once dried, or MAF has just failed. Also check connector.
