OK, its a grey box, hanging from its wiring harness from under the centree pf the dash hanging out into the drivers footwell.

It has a metal bracket, but isnt screwed to anywhere (obviously), it has loads of duct tape wraped around it. It has a speaker looking thing in the corner.

Id guess its about 3cm x 7cm x 11cm

 

Theres a label on it, and this is exactly what it says:

 

CONT ASSY S/L [P with a circle around it]

ET631 12V

008 JIDECO 008

K00827

 

 

Any ideas what this mystery box is!?

err, I thought that, so i turned the lights on, and the sound seems to come from everywhere! I cant get my ear right up to the thing id break my back bending backwards over the seat lol

Hope you've got the car safely locked away matey as you've just publicly stated that the car has no alarm. Out of curiosity, how did you get insurance without an alarm? All the places I rang a year ago when I bought the car insisted that it have a Cat I alarm.

Right, just found out that the reverse chime beeping comes from this little box. So I guess this is a stock part afterall, where is it supposed to go, im pretty sure its not hanging into the footwell by its wiring
