Seems Nissan GB have no plans to release the 350Z...

Seems Nissan customer services have been saying:

> Thank you for your email.

>

> Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd have no plans to distribute the Nissan 350Z.

>

> Thank you for contacting us.

> Yours sincerely

The above email was sent to someone on the Scooby board.

I have emailed Nissan GB today and await the reply.

If its the same, it confirms Nissan GB management are total f*cking dimwits.

If they cant see a opportunity to capture some of the Audi TT, Bmw Z3 type market they need shooting!

sounds about right for Nissan UK.

Bought Autocar today with a feature on the 350Z, Nissan say they will make their decision on whether to import the car to Britain at the end of the year, so nothing firm yet, they want to see how well in does in America first before making their decision.

Look....it will sell a bundle in the states...they are only charging £17,500 for it for chrissakes!!

Read the article in Autocar...it makes the point that if it IS sold in UK it will have to be around the £24k mark. Although this is still a very competitive price (IF they do it) it is the old UK 'rip off' syndrome again.

Remember...the 300 had a pretty crap sales record here. I think the 350 looks a much better buy than those bloody Audi's (there's only one REAL TT)......is it only me that see's them as a teletubbies take on a Golf??

Bloody hairdresser's car.......

Of course the Audi has a bulletproof resale value (at the moment!!) and it doesn't matter which way you cut it 'Nissan' just does not have 'cool' appeal....that was a problem with the 300.

Nissan will take a view as to how many they think they will sell in the UK...that is what will dictate whether or not we see it here.

Like a lot of motor manufacturers (most of them) they are in serious trouble....they need to produce cars that people will buy...obvious really, innit?

Begs the question - If they arnt sure how it will sell then why the hell waste money on a car no-one can or will buy....They'll just get imported from Japan anyhow if they dont sell em over here - like the Skyline. For cheaper too. and with a higher spec.

Doesn't surprise me!

Don't forget boys and girls that Nissan is just a name now, the French are now in charge so I say "Welcome to the European Dictatorship!" mad.gif

Renault made the largest cockup with the Alpine brand so none of the above shocks me in the slightest. Shame though! But as was pointed out above, they'll just get imported from Japan in time...cheaper and in better used condition than 3 years worth of servicing by Nelson dealers over here. wink.gif

Market research will have INDICATED that it will sell....reality is what counts.

Marker research indicated that the Sinclair C5 would sell....no manufacturer goes ahead with a design that they don't believe will sell.

I know that's pretty difficult to believe when you look at some of the shite that hits the roads.....Renault 'Vel Satis' anyone??

They have got to be having a laugh.

I was told by the Main Nissan Agents in Nottingham who sold about 5 skylines, about 20 300zx's and had S14's on demo that the 350Z would deffinatly be over here but only at selected garages and not till the end of next year !

Baring in mind the MD that told me this has a massive picture of one in his office i would believe him - not to say that Nissan wont change their mind tho !

God is coming ...and he dont have stock turbos . . .

Nico,

i also was told the same literally the other day by the MD at my local nissan dealer. end of next year sometime.

Yeah and I know why now, why do you think a delayed launch here in the UK???

Because the yanks will get all the free recalls and replacement parts like they did on our cars! We will then be lined up for paying for them same as usual, nothing changes does it? Shite being British!!!

that is becuase us shy retiring Brit types on the whole dont complain about anything and just bend over and take one up the corn hole, unlike the yanks who kick up a major shit storm and Sue the ass of global copertations even if their clock stops working ! So i guess there are small advatangous to the Legitigous society they create for themselves.

And no! pissing and winging on here doesn't count as me and craig are the only fuckers that get sued !

I think you'll find that it has to do with the respective size of the markets....and the financial clout that that entails.

We don't have ANY clout......we stopped being a major force a long, long time ago.

The car indusrty in indicative of how we f**ked up....too slow to react to change, out-moded production methods and intransigient unions.....and if that didn't kill 'em along came Maggie who virtually destroyed the remaining manufacturing industry.

It's a laugh though isn't it?...they have all these inquiries that come to the earth shattering conclusion that we are being ripped off with car prices....and it's STILL happening. I know some manufacturers have dropped their prices but it is still a major piss take.

The 350z is only a piss poor , belated copy of the Audi TT anyway...Just as the 300zx tt was a poor copy of the mighty Porker 928! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I shall resist the urge to use Craig's server space to call you a c*nt.

I happen to think the Audi TT is a fantastic design concept

And I would also like to point out that anyone on here with a TT Zed will happily race you for your house.

The Audi TT is a fashion statement,

Shaved pubes are a fashion statement,

Neither has anything to do with sports cars or the enjoyment of driving.

At least the Zed didn't get it's design so badly wrong that was unstable at high speed cornering, get slated and then have to have a particularly awful spoiler stuck on to the boot stiking up like a crease.

The Z, on the other hand, has everything to do with sports cars and the enjoyment of driving. biggrin.gif

Me - I'm biased! - Cheers

Upside down jelly mold taken from the rabbit shape concept! All it needs is a set of rabbit ears and some whiskers and the design would have been perfection in itself! LMFAO biggrin.gif

But the whiskers were seen to be too dangerous to pedestrians and the ears affected the overall drag coefficient! Nevermind, it ended up with some DIY SOS treatment on the arse end from Handy Andy instead! biggrin.gif wink.gif

bonus if they are 24,000 dollars over there how much will they cost our jap buddies.....just think how cheap they are gonna be in three years when they start to get imported at least we wont have to wait as long as most of us did with the old z to come down in price

Talking of 928's - pissed all over one about an hour ago!!

Was out cruising to the pub, after picking me mate up, going down this road - guy in front is in a 928 - all of a sudden back end drops down, and slight cloud of smoke! WERR HEYY - he's up for a gas. Step on the loud pedal - reach about 16psi - in 4th - (no need to change down @ 60) - and i'm past him in about 5 seconds - 10 seconds and he's a blip in the mirror - MUHAHAHHA.

928s - nice, but no match for a tweeked nip!

Check out my post: "Please email Nissan UK now - 350z (Save Nissan's Sporty Coupes)"

I have got all 200sx owners from www.sxoc.co.uk emailing Nissan UK, just need the www.300zx.co.uk to do the same.
