Hi all,

I have noticed a small leak today, it appears to be directly under the Sump / Oil Filter. There is a small pool of oil (approx 20x15cm) and I did not see any drip drip drip while looking.

Noticed it at about 14:30 today, its been parked at work since 10:00 following a 30 mile motorway trip in stop start traffic.

Anyone got some wisdom to throw on this (and yes the oil filter and sump plug are tightly screwed in)

Cheers

Sump plug washer not been replaced on last oil change?

No it wasnt changed actually. Is that likely to be the problem, would,nt have thought that would be an issue - will change it anyway just to be sure!

Well, there's a fair chance that it's been re-used several times, and hot oil will run through the tiniest of gaps... easiest to start with the easy things!

After that, you're down to good old fashioned crawling around underneath i'm afraid - leaking oil will travel quite a way, so don't necessarily focus your atention on the sump! My crank seal was leaking & the oil found its way everywhere...

Really need to get it up in the air.....oil may be dripping from the sump...but it could be making its way down all the way from the rocker cover gaskets or turbo oil feeds

I had a leak from my turbo pipes that turned out to be the clips not tight enough and the gasket that sits between the metal outlet pipe and turbo missing, would travel down the pipes to the sump
