taxing recently purchased car (not got new V5 yet)?

Does anyone know what the method is to retax a car if you haven't yet received the new V5 from the DVLA?. I bought another 300zx earlier in the month but the tax expired at the weekend. As I haven't got the V5 through with my details on yet, I'm not sure how I can renew?

Cheers...

take new keeper supplement to post office?

You should have the small green part left of the V5? the bit you keep at the bottom of the V5....you can tax it with that.
