Front suspension

Hi all.

I am havig a vibration problem under braking and think that it is the bushes and arms etc. I have had a full set of tein street coilovers fitted so it isn't that and have adjustable upper arms. What else can I replace on the front while the bushes are being done?

A ist woould be great so I can order them.

I fairly certain it isn't the brake disks wharped as they are also fairly new.

Do you have the Adjustable tension rods too (lower arms) , as its the tension bushes that cause most front end vibrations.

No only the top adjustable.

So the list is

1. Adjustable bottom arms.

2. Bushs (already got a set)

The Adjustable tension arms repalce the tension bushes with spherical bearings, but I would also look at replacing the Steering rack bushes (the bushes that mount the rack to the subframe), they are a common wear item too.

What about the adjustable front tension rods?

Should I do those as well?

Just looking on smithys web site.

Could be discs, are they drilled?, grooved ?, prone to distort slightly.

but normally only apparent under heavy braking!

Yeh, I dont think I would rule out the discs straight away...unless the problem was eveident before and after the new discs were fitted. Discs can be warped in no time at all with a few hard stops...especially when new and not fully bedded.

Having seen the price of the lower adjustable arms I might get some new disks first. At least I know I will need them eventually anyway.

Cheers guys. Watch this space.
