I dont believe in Ghosts.

 

BUT...

 

The mrs says she was at home the other day on her own and could hear a piano playing downstairs clear as day. We dont have a piano and nor do our neighbours etc. The tv wasnt on, in fact it wasnt even there as I just sold it! She said it was loud, and she stood at the top of the stairs listening to it for more than a few seconds but as soon as she took a step down it stopped.

 

Now I didnt believe her, I dont believe in ghosts and out house isnt even old etc.

 

But about 10min ago I was stood in the front room talking to her and a candle on the window ledge just fell on its side? Its one of those short, big thick ikea ones. I checked it and there is no way it could have fallen over by itself, its centre of gravity is at the base, it doesnt fall over if you push it etc. the window wasnt open or anything, no vibrations from anything.

 

Now I dont beleve in ghost but that was cool! I saw it go out the corner of my eye!

feck -good job it wasnt lit - how would you put that on the insurance form

Poltergeist means Noisy ghost iirc. Something that's defined as causing a disturbance I guess rather than a mere presence, ie a ghost.

I don't believe in the paranormal...but I'm open minded enough to not doubt that there could be truth behind it. But as with all things, I only believe in what I see with my own eyes. Reason why I don't bother going to church and worshiping the unknown! LOL

Its easy to say "I dont believe" but there is some overwhelming evidence that makes me believe really. My only concern is this. When your misses heard the piano being played that would suggest that the piano was also a ghost. Now OK peoples spirits may well hang around and haunt us but how does a piano exist in the spritual world? This would then suggest that it isnt actually a ghost as such. I saw a program once that suggested that it isnt actually the spirit of a person but that the actual house has a way of recording energy from past events and this energy can be witnessed on occasions? It has been (apparently) proven as a concrete block was exposed to an small energy blast and a few minutes later the enegy was recorded back from the block in minute amounts but it was there?

The candle thing? who knows. The only way to definately find out is to die. The only thing is..................Its then too late to tell anyone and if you try to tell soneone they wont believe you as you will then be a ghost. :p

No Si I dont believe in God or any of he's so called decendants. I believe that God is nothing more than peoples conscience and guilt. I am all for Science mate. Evolution rules and all that. What I meant in my last post is that its hard not to believe in ghosts with all the evidence but there has never EVER been any conclusive proof? Just what people say. The whole subject is explainable with Science but I didnt want to go there TBH. BUT! needless to say that the human mind can sometimes play pretty convincing tricks on us and we have no basic control over that.

Further more. The presence of ghosts dont have to be a person does it. Like I said before there has been tests carried out and the results have shown there is something there basically from nothing. If you do some studying into the world of nuclear physics like I have been doing lately you will find some answers to the many paranormal questions. Energy can not be disapated it remains for all time. If you use energy then although it has served its purpose it still remains as an entity. As the human body produces energy all the time its obvious then that the energy is still there somewhere in existance. That being the case why not call it a ghost?

Ask Athene about my poem on the god subject? I could post it but it may offend people who love/live religion. It isnt badly worded but its straight to the point and I believe it to be the truth. :cool: dis prooving religion in effect. I have a friend who is staunch Muslim. We work togther and so spend a lot of time travelling together so we talk. He is amazed with my beliefs and also amused by them too. BUT he never tries to turn me nor is he ever offended. We are all entitled to our own beliefs Si aint we?
